RESIDENTIAL WATER USE

 *Colorado law gives the Clifton Water District Board the authority to divide the District into different areas and charge rates according to the expense of providing services to those areas. The electrical costs for pumping water and maintaining the pumping stations serving Out of District and the Whitewater area are a significant expense that does not benefit the rest of the District.

**A Demand Charge is assessed when a compound meter is utilized, and the usage flow exceeds the “low
flow” meter causing the “high flow” meter to register additional usage.

District personnel per policy.

RESIDENTIAL TAP FEES

Residential Tap fees are determined based on the meter size required.

ADU Properties: Tap fees for ADUs are 70% of the base rate for the Primary Unit's meter size. Fee is waived for units under 750 sq ft.

Multi-Family Unit Properties: The Primary Unit shall be assessed at 100% of the System Development Fee (SDF). Each additional unit shall be assessed at 70% of the base SDF rate associated with a 5/8-inch meter, regardless of the actual square footage of the additional unit.

DISCOUNTS

To encourage water conservation, the District offers discounts to the base System Development Fee in the following situations. Eligible properties may combine these discounts. Discounts only apply to the tap fees on the Primary Unit.

 Greywater System Discount: New housing units that install approved indoor greywater recycling systems may qualify for a 10% reduction in the System Development Fee, based on the meter size required.

Irrigation Access Discount: New housing units that will have access to a functional and active irrigation system may qualify for a 20% reduction in the System Development Fee, based on the meter size required.
